Mikey slipped on our hardwood floors while wearing his sleeper. He was more startled than hurt, I think.

9.5 months

"Superman"

Some things I forgot to mention in his 9 month post, so here's his 9.5 months update:
-Mikey knows how to:
Superman
Clap his hands
High Five
-Mikey likes to crawl with one hand holding an object while sliding it against the floor
-Mikey snots when he cries
-Mikey likes to sing "Waaaaaaaaaaaaah"
-He loves to dance to "La Cucaracha"

Mikey's bear pillow

Whenever we put Mikey in his crib to sleep, the first thing he will do is to find his bear and then give it a big hug and then plant his face into it. But then everytime we peek in on him when he's sleeping, we'll always find him using his bear as a pillow.

Teething

Mikey was teething horribly today - mood swings, whining, and overall irritability.

MIkey's First Christmas

Mikey received many goodies for his first Christmas. Here he is looking to see what Santa put in his stocking:

Opening one of his presents- he was much more interested in the bows and wrapping paper than some of the presents.

So many presents he didn't know which to play with first.

But he took a liking to Scout right away.

It's hard to take pictures of Mikey, because he'll run and attack the camera if he sees it.

Mikey and Javen

Mikey and Javen on Christmas Eve-they are born 5 days apart.

Mikey is all shiny from all of the Aquaphor that we put on his face. Javen was so cute in his Santa outfit. Both boys had a fun time with each other, talking in baby talk language that only them too could understand.

9 Months

-Mikey has 6 teeth now
-He likes to bob his head with the music
-He knows how to clap his hands
-He dislikes packaged baby foods and loves eating his porridge with meat and veggies
-He now cruises and works on getting from one object to another

Went to Kyoto and Osaka for a business trip, and stayed a few days to eat some good food.


Had some great sushi of course. Not from this girl though. We found the best food leads was from asking the locals.

This is Okonomiyaki. Like a Japanese salty pancake with hidden goodies, and lots of mayo.

Takoyaki. Seems everyone loves them.

Christmas lights

We took Mikey to see the Christmas lights on Eucalyptus St in San Carlos. We thought he would enjoy the sights more if he was held than in his stroller, so Gong Gong held him and showed him the sights. He seemed more interested in the other little kids than the lights, but he did appreciate the lighted reindeer.

I dressed him in a warm bear outfit to keep in warm as walked up and down the street..I could've used this for his Halloween costume!

He became tired towards the end of the night and started sucking on his fingers and sleeve.

Daddy's boy

Mikey's 1st Thanksgiving

Mikey was able to enjoy some turkey with some yams and peas for his first Thanksgiving dinner. Next year...the turkey drumstick.

8 months

- Mikey doesn't like to sit still or be held, he loves to crawl and recently has started pulling himself up into a standing position using us or the couch
-He is growing out his 2 top teeth
-He has developed stranger anxiety, with a really cute wail
-He's mumbling a lot more, still only muh muh and ma ma sounds though

Mikey loves to grab DVDs from the shelf. Here he's caught red handed!

Crawling & Pooping

I was invited to test drive a Ferrari California for some reason. I got an AARP invitation in the mail today, so maybe somebody mixed up my name.

Stef came with. She can fit in the back seat!

It's a sexy machine. But I think I'll pass.

Pear

Mall

We took Mikey to the mall to Trick-or-Treat. Wow it was crowded.

We met up with Emma and Emily (and the parents).

Natalie also showed up in a kitty costume.

Mikey wants one too!

Stef made some scary cupcakes to go with spooky pizza, horrific hefeweisen, and boring Wii Grudge game.

Trick or treat & Cheerios

After getting a sample of some Cheerios from Natalie earlier in the day, we decided to give Mikey a couple after dinner and have him feed himself. He loved it and kept on making squinty eyes!



We took Mikey around to a couple of houses on our block before we had to put him to bed. He loved grabbing the candy from everyone's candy bowl.

7 months

-Mikey loves to eat meat and makes yum yum noises when he eats papaya
-Mikey does not care for peaches and cereal; would rather stick a plastic toy in his mouth than a frozen whole wheat bagel
-Started to make a squinty eyes face when he is really happy
-Has mastered the one arm crawl and will sometimes slither using both arms
-Will be down on all fours and sway front to back like "get ready, get set" but doesn't "go"
-Kicks when we are holding him to tell us to move around for a change in scenery
-Laughs a lot loudly, protest cries even louder

This past weekend we found Mikey asleep on top of his teddy bear during a couple of his nap times. What was he doing to fall asleep that way?!
